Film - Lonely litter bug! by The Daring Donuts

In Term 3, we got the chance to make our very own films.

The theme for this year’s films, “confident, connected, actively involved lifelong learners”. Our teacher, Mrs Faalili put us into groups. My group was The Daring Donuts. We learnt about storyboarding, different types of shots and angles as well as how to hold the ipad correctly.

Our film is a Drama and it is about a person who litters and gets no friends.

One thing I really liked about this whole filming process was working with my group and having fun.

Getting To know my Buddy - Writing

For Writing today we had to get into buddies and ask questions, then we had to pick 3 things that you learnt and highlight the 3 things things that you learnt about them. 

Steps on how to create a excellent blog post!

Today for Cybersmart we had to scroll through our blog post and check if each step was included. Here is the steps and it is one of my blog posts that I thought had all of the steps! Then we had to create our own step by step graphic.

Cross Country - Year 6 girl's!

Last week we had Cross Country and for the year 6 girl's I had came 1st place I learnt that if you encourage yourself & keep pushing! you will be proud of yourself even if you didn't come a place! this is a photo of the year 6 girl's that came 1st, 2nd and 3rd!

Thank you Kids Can for everything you have supported us with, we really appreciate what we have been getting. We feel very lucky and blessed to get these clothing and food. We really appreciate what we have been getting, if it wasn’t for Kids Can we would've been starving and sick.

Phonics

For phonics today we are focusing on the letter 'e', 'ee', 'ea' and 'y' but the sound 'e' we were given a slide to show all the words we know. This is what I have made!.

Quality Blog Comment - Screencast

In cybersmart we have been looking at adding a quality blog comment.

A quality blog comment must be POSITIVE, THOUGHTFUL & HELPFUL.

A quality comment must have a greeting, a compliment, feedback and a question if you have one.

We have been drafting our own comments and publishing them on people's blog post.

We have used screencastify to share our comments and explain how they are POSITIVE, THOUGHTFUL & HELPFUL.

WW1 story - Writing

For writing we have been writing a story about WW1 and we had to imagine that we were someone in WW1.

Buddy Class - 3D Landscapes

Today we had buddy class and we are creating 3D landscapes and now we are on paper mache here are two photos of what we were doing!.

Silly Sentences - Phonics

For Phonics today we made our own silly sentences and we were focusing on the sound 'ee'.

We had to choose a letter out of 'ea', 'ee' or 'y' and I had chosen 'y' and this is the silly sentence I have made!.

PB4L bustop activity!

Today for PB4L we did a bus stop activity and we came up with all of the ways we can show our school values in our classroom. Then we had to choose the most important one for each value for each area. Here is what me and my buddy, Moni came up with. 

'y' words - Phonics

For phonics today we focused on the sound 'ee' but spelt with a 'y' 

We had to write as many words as we know that ends with 'y' and that makes the 'ee' sound.

For phonics today we focused on the sound of the soft sound dge. We learnt that the rule for the soft dge are that the vowels come before dge. This is what makes the sound a soft dge. Here are some examples.

Today the Bubble Gum Dance Crew came to our school. It was so fun watching them dance what I really like about their performance was there dancing it was so amazing.

Police Dog Visit

We had a police dog and police come to our school to teach us stuff about New Zealand police dogs. They showed us an entertaining and informative show. We applied what we learnt and created an informative poster.
