Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team. Another great activity! Keep it up :)
Activity 1: Tutira Mai Nga Iwi is a great waiata! There's lots of fun in it, isn't there. Why do you think it's such a nice waiata? Do you know what the words mean? I think it's important to know the meaning of the songs we sing.
Activity 2: Good work. Poi Rakau is lots of fun. You've done a good job of describing two rules and the purpose of the game. People will have a good idea of what to do when they start playing. Have you played Poi Rakau before? I've played it a few times and enjoy it because it's all about hand-eye coordination which I'm much better at than running!
Bonus activity: Well done. You've given some good reasons why you've put each song in its place. I put Te Puku o Te Ika in first place because I loved how they sang it with feeling. They were all great performances though, don't you think?
I look forward to reading more of your blog over the summer. Cheers, Ruby.
