  1. Kia ora Tiana and welcome to the Winter Learning Journey blogging programme. We are thrilled that you have joined us this year!!

We hope that you will enjoy the programme and learn a lot about the people, places and things that you can see and do right in your own 'backyard.' On that note, I absolutely loved the slideshow that you created for Day #1. It is so colourful and full of great information. On Slide #4, I particularly like the way that you used different colours for each activity. Of the five activities, do you have a favourite? I think that my favourite activity would be to walk through the Waitakere Ranges.

I happen to live on the west side of Auckland and I often take my son, Aronui, out for walks in the Waitakeres. He is seven years old and he loves to go 'exploring' with me!

I hope that you will continue to explore New Zealand with us over the next few weeks. We're really looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

See you online again soon, I hope!

    Best,
    Rachel :)

  3. Talofa Tiana,

What a beautiful name! It's so great to see you blogging with us through the Winter Learning Journey programme. I'm Jacinta and I am so happy to see you finally engage with our fun activities exploring New Zealand.

Tiana, Thank you for completing Day 1. I really love the way you presented all the activities through Google slides. How creative! I thought your flag was very unique, given that you wanted to show a good representation of New Zealand by using some of the original colors of the New Zealand flag and implementing the Kiwi, stars and the New Zealand fern. Very Clever! You are absolutely right, people who travel from around the world also call us Kiwi's for short. How bizarre and cool!

You have given great facts about New Zealand but I just wanted to know if you found 3 interesting facts? I would love to read more of your own words describing any fascinating facts you learnt while researching information through the link 'New Zealand Facts.' You are going to have so much fun exploring the rest of New Zealand.

    Well done Tiana!

    Jacinta

  4. Tiana!

Yay, I'm so proud of you for getting into this Blogging! I really enjoyed reading through your slide deck and your facts. Was there any fact in particular that STOOD out to you or that you found FASCINATING?

I really like your flag design and that you also thought about the colours and what they represent.

    Tino pai rawa Tiana.
