Pasifika Pearls Performance!

Last week Friday we had a performance for just the girls. We performed one dance to the Rotary Club because they came to our school in the afternoon for a Quiz they had going on in our school hall and a big thanks to Mrs Fonua for teaching us this dance and Miss Tupou for helping out the pearls!.

Confidence!

For Reading we made a poster about 'Confidence', we had to use our creativity when we were making our poster. This is what I created.

Look Down! - QW

Every morning we are still currently doing Quick Write which I think is a great way to start our day!. We do have a link that takes us to an image which is a different photo every day. Today this is the quick write we had to write about and in our class we have different ideas of what is happening from just looking and one picture. 

Healthy Heartbeat - Film!

Students in our group was Lexi, Brooklyn & Byron. Our film is about being healthy and staying fit. The thing I mostly enjoyed while our journey on our filming was always communicating and there was never a time where we wouldn’t be smiling or laughing but overall I liked the fun vibes. I just hope everyone learned something about this video and enjoyed watching it.

Integrity Online!

For PB4L (Positive, Behaviour, 4 Learning) we had to create a poster about Integrity Online. Because there have been students on chats talking to people they don't know. So we had a quick talk about it and this is what I have created.

Expectations From Me!

This is the expectations I agree I need to be doing as currently being a Year 7 student as same as other year 7 students, mainly to be a great example for the younger children. Some things included in this poster is things I need to work on, from what I see I mainly need to focus and work more on my confidence. 

Term 3 Finished!

Term 3 has finished it has been a fun time having Mrs Fa'alili back!. But now it's 2 weeks of holidays then we go back to school, I wish everyone a happy holiday.

LCS - Presentation

For our LCS (learn, Create, Share) we had to choose a system or organs to write about. We were put into buddies and we had to research about it what me & my buddy (Tracey) choose to research about was the 'Respiratory System'. Room 13 had to present to the entire class our presentation. This is the slide which includes our research and everything we have learnt about the 'Respiratory System'!.

Ki O Rahi - Term 3

In the past few weeks we have been doing Ki O Rahi it is a Maori Sport. But in this sport it has a background story to it. Coach Puiti came in to our school and taught us lessons about the game Ki O Rahi. Today was the last session we had with her, playing this sport was a good experience.

Food Journal - Term 3

For Term 3 our topic is 'Healthy Choices' every day & week we have to put down everything we have eaten in that day & week we have to do this all term. I have already started recording the food that I have eaten every day. But below is a fresh copy of how I started from the beginning!.

Frozen - Quick Write

Every mornings when school starts we start with Quick Write. This is the first thing we do to start our day off. We have to look at a picture we are given and use our creativity and imagination to create our story. Usually the whole class has one picture but different stories behind it. This is my specific quick write I enjoy reading!.

Inference - Reading (Mahy)

For reading today we have groups. The group I am in is 'Mahy' what we have done was learn about 'Inference'. We were given sentences with answers we had to find out what the answer is by using the Keywords in the sentence.

Inferences - WHEN

Answer each question, highlight the keywords and justify why this keyword helps you to make the inference.

1. The first glint of light in the eastern sky was the signal for the soldiers to clamber from the shelter of their trenches.
   What part of the day was it?
   Morning  Keywords: First glint of light - Tells us that it is morning but early because ‘first glint of light’ will be the sun coming up which brings light.
   
   
2. With hunger gnawing at her stomach and the sun at its zenith, Barbara sought the shade of a small cafe.
   What part of the day was it?

Noon Keywords: Sun at its zenith - Tells us it is noon because the meaning of zenith means ‘it is the most powerful’ and it is talking about the sun and noon is the powerful part of the day with the sun.

3. Anna observed the seemingly endless flocks of birds migrating to a warmer climate and yearned to be going with them.
   What season was it?

Autumn Keywords: Birds migrating to a warmer climate - Tells us its Autumn

4. Having travelled so far, Doug was disappointed to find that he no longer recognised the village.
   Had Doug been in the village before? How do you know that?

Yes, because he doesn’t recognise the village anymore. Either because he hasn’t been there in ages or they changed the village around.

Climbing the mountain - Quick Write

For quick write we were given a picture & what we had to do was write about the picture & what you think about it, using our imagination to imagine what it would've been like. This is what we are going to be doing every day now. 

Student Led Conference!

Today we finished school early because we had student led conference. This is my slideshow of what I had shown my mum who came to the student led conference to look at the things I have been doing in class & school and to look at my grades of where I am in my subjects.

For literacy we learnt about script work. We read 3 journals & when we finished we had to choose which book to write about. This is what we done.

Having Mrs Faalili Back !

For about the last 2 terms we have had a different teacher & Mrs Faalili wasn't teaching us, but finally we have her back teaching us!, who wouldn't be happy of finally having Mrs Faalili back ?, but now for the rest of this year we have Mrs Faalili! :)

Diamante Poem - Matariki

Today Room 13 had to do a diamante poem about Matariki, we were given an specific way to do a diamante poem the way we are supposed to do it. With the verbs, nouns and adjectives. This is the diamante poem I made.

Matariki - Poster

We have been working on Matariki creations, and research on Matariki. For one of the activity we have done in class was a Matariki Poster. We were told to get into a group of 3 and we were given a task to start by coloring every single piece of paper. When we finished we had to put it together, this is the end results of our art work!!.

My T - Shirt - Art

In Room 13 we worked on our piece of T-Shirt art work that presented about us and what we like/love. We were given a blank copy of a T-Shirt outline, then we had to use our creativity and I drew all the things I love/like. This was really fun too do, especially getting to use and put our creativity into this shirt!!.

For Reading we were learning about Matariki and facts about Matariki. We were given a bunch of reading task cards to pick from. We choose four reading task, One reading task card I choose was 'Create an Acrostic Poem'. This is the Acrostic Poem I created.

We were given a text that was from a song named 'Home again - Elton John' then we had to just carry on with writing a small quick write of what I thought about it, based on the beginning of the text and getting all the ideas from the text which was

My Mate is a hero! - Writing

This is one of the writing I have done and what our class had to do was to write a something that describes our friend/mate and what they like to do and other stuff like their personality. It was a imaginary friend that we make up and just write a little piece of writing about our mate/friend that attended war with me!.

For poetry workshop we had to make a 'poem' about our self what we do and like to do and describe ourself. We had to think of a way to start of our poems and make a creative title. Enjoy!

Stellaluna - Reading with Miss Siale

For reading yesterday we had to read a book that was named 'Stellaluna' after we have read the book we were given lots of task and out of those task we had to choose 2. After we finished choosing the 2 task we had to complete them and create it into a slide.

Play Based Learning! - My thoughts

This is my thoughts about our Play based learning experience it is something new for our class, but also fun! it is where we just play game but also learn new things.

Technology - Last Day in Graphics

For the last day in Graphics sadly we didn't have Mr Pineda (Normal Teacher) , but what we done was create a digital 3D project name tag, we were given instructions that had were step by step to create a specific name tag. After following all the instructions this is how my name tag came out like!.

Poetry Workshop - Writing

This is a piece of writing I have done in the Poetry Workshop. We had to write down places where we belong and who we belong to. This is little piece of poem I have written.

Mustafa Kemel Research !

We learnt about ANZAC and there was a man that was made in a statue in Gallipoli. We never knew who he was so we had to research and find out who he is. Then when we found out who he was we had to research things about him and create a slide show!.

For writing we had to use our senses and imagine we were in the war then we had to put them into sentences. And we also had to honour our writing as if it is gold!

This is what a Diamante Poem looks like it has Adjectives, Verbs and Nouns in it and it is also shaped into a diamond this is what I have learnt! and it is about Anzac.

Questions ? from Mr Herlihy - Writing

 Mr Herlihy went to Gallipoli. He showed us some photo's of him in gallipoli and he also told us new things about the war that we never knew about. When we got back to class we done writing and for that we were given 3 questions to answer.

Reading Task Cards! - Taniko Group

For reading we were given a book called Toitoi it had lots of different stories that students wrote. We had to choose one story and read it, then after that we were given reading task cards and we had to choose 3 reading task cards to complete.

Predicting what might happen on Friday ?

On Friday it says that we will be having a 'Fun Day!' so since it's called Fun day!, I think that it will be something fun like the whole entire school will play games and other fun events! with no learning for the whole day, Games that will have everyone screaming and cheering on people!, the reason why I think they are having a 'Fun Day' is so we can end of our last day of the term with a great day.

100$ Dollar Note

Today I have learnt about the 100$ note and who is on the 100$ dollar note the person who is on the 100$ dollar note is Lord Rutherford and next to Lord Rutherford to the left you will see the Nobel Prize that he won in 1908! Before there used to be a old 100$ dollar note but now they have changed it into something new!

Ways to earn money!

Here is ways I have learnt to earn money! Either it would be a hard thing to do to earn your money or it could be easy to earn money it does depend on what you will be doing to earn your money! Here are some opportunities you can do to earn money!
